Bass PodXT Live - Thoughts?

Hey guys, have a question for all you bass players out there...

How is the Bass PodXT Live? On paper it looks great, and the soundclips I've heard were pretty good. I ask because, for Christmas, by bassist wants to get a few bass pedals, so I suggested this to him since he only uses a keyboard amp. With it, he'll be able to maybe get some tones similar to the classic bass tones that he wants to get. I would've suggested getting a new bass amp, or saving up for one, but he also plays keys, and we use the amp for bass, keys, and vocals when we aren't playing a show.

So, to all the bassists out there, I ask - How does the PodXT Live sound? Will he be able to get classic bass tones from it? Does it sound good DI? How are the effects on it? Thanks for the help!

I don't play bass, but as an FYI: the new POD x3 will combine the bass & guitar PODs in one box.

Thanks! Oh wow, it even has vocal preamp stuff too. That could be a cool idea for him to get, and I can use it for bass and vocals at the same time too from the looks of it.
