Looking for Real Life
what it is - ashdown mag 600r, dbx 31 band EQ, avatar neo 4x10, and a fishman pro platinum EQ
yes i know it looks goofy but the preamp in/out on the ashdown is on the front
anyhoo, down to the reviewing
cab - it's the same great quality cab for cheap that i've come to expect from avatar, it's a lot lighter than any bass cab i've ever seen, but the bass response is not lacking in the very least. The adjustable tweeter volume is nice, too. It's bottom ported so it's got a nice boom to it, but retains articulation. No complaints whatsoever about this cab
head - this is basically a 575 watt version of the design behringer copied and made poorly. Imagine the behringer ultrabass line without sucking and that's what you have. I love the flexibility of the head, the deep & bright switches actually do something on it, so that means something. having the 5 band EQ (bass, low mid, mid, high mid, treble) makes for some good tone shaping. And yes, it's louder than ****. The subsonic bass or whatever function is really cool too, it sounds unnatural & weird on behringers but this thing was definately done right, you can get more thunder than you'd know what to do with, OR a real natural tone, OR an almost GK sounding hifi kinda tone out of this rig. Only complaint is the effects loop being on the front.
the DBX does everything it claims to, pretty standard
the fishman is sort of an upright tool, got a compressor, depth control, phase switch, ground lift, 5 band EQ, it's a great tool
the tone i have dialed is a thunderous ball shaking type tone with hifi overtones. Exactly what i wanted
I'm happy
