Bass wiring guys; Jazz bass blend on a standard pot?

I have a guitar with pretty much the exact wiring as a stock jazz bass. I want to do the volume/tone/blend setup with it, but would like to not have to make a run to the parts house and would like to install the blend on one of the old volume pots(250k). Is this feasible for a simple sweep between the two different pots, or do I need a concentric? Can you explain why the single gang pot would not work for the process?

I've been googling it and there isn't a lot of answers to the "why" question.

Thanks all.

You can't do a blend with a single 250k pot. The way a blend pot works is equivalent to two stacked volume pots that turn in opposite directions. As you turn one PU up, it's simultaneously turning the other down. Additionally it should have a detent in the center position when both are on full. It requires a stacked blend pot specially made for this purpose.

Got it. Thanks. I'll bite the bullet on it then.
