Bass Wiring help needed.

re wiring a friend's bass guitar for them to earn some extra dollar. I'm handy with a soldering iron!

anyways, the thing is a 1970's Sakai bass. I need a diagram for the following setup:

Two pickups, single coils, larger than covered guitar buckers in size. each one has a switch to turn them on or off a la Jaguar. there are two pots, volume and tone and an output jack, I have all the bits, not a problem. sorta know how to wire the pots all up as they are halfway done. but anyway i need help.

earth is to the bridge btw. no biggie there....

FYI, the pickups have one cable from each. each cable contains a white covered smaller cable, persumably the Hot lead and an uncovered one which I take as ground....

right ok.

Just checked the new switches that are in the dusty assortment of bagged bits. I have two DPDT on on switches. should that matter?

also tone pot after volume pot?

If anyone gives me more info, can you do it in sequence from the output jack onwards please, its more logical in my mind

Is the Sakai anything like the Burns/Mosrite-inspired design in this pic?

extremely similar.

Minus one pot add two slide switches for pickup selection and boom.

EDIT: pickups are identical in appearance.

At the most basic level, the diagram below will work. Fancy stuff such as phase reversal and series/parallel would require replacing the output cabling of the pickups. Additional switches or push-pull pots would be necessary.

also colour coding wise. i take it the BLACK wires from the pickups are the gound??

Mine have a WHITE cable and a BARE wire both within a grey sleeve. I take it that the BARE wire is the ground??
