So, I've been using a Line 6 Pod XT and Pod XT Live into an Atomic 18 watter for almost ten months now.
One thing has bothered me with it. There's this underlying hum I get when I'm playing. Firing up and tweaking the Nosie Gate helps when I'm not playing. But when I AM playing I can hear it underneath the sound.
It happens on both the bean XT and the XT Live. It is not related to the power sources for the Pod units; I have run the bean from the dock on the Atomic and the Live from a different power source.
It seems directly related to the Drive function on the amp models, which would make sense when dealing with the REAL amps, but going digital I would think that they would have done something to eliminate that.
Short of going out and playing a Flextone or a Valvetronix I'm not sure if this is something that just happens and I have to live with. It's kind of annoying and I can very much see how over time without gigging this rig I would likely unload it and hope that the technology catches up someday.
Thanks.
