A lot has changed since I started playing bass many moons ago. These days, they have even deeper octave bass pedals/rack effects than traditional synth bass effects.

Some of them are even so low that you will blow traditional bass guitar speakers if you use them through your amp.

I want to mess with this a bit. I'm thinking of contacting Dayton Audio or Eminence about what kind of speaker they can make using a lighter neo magnet that could handle these frequencies through my GK1001RB-II.

I want to make a 1x18 and a 2x15, non-ported, to handle the lows. Then, using an ABY pedal, I want to run a newer GK amp without the deeper octave effects through a 4x10 and 1x12, both with horns and ported, using traditional neo-mag bass guitar drivers.

Anyone else here try anything like this yet? This is my vision for my future as a bass player. But, I want to make sure it will work before I start having my dude build the cabs.

I just got the Eminence Hempdog and Eminence EM12

Basically the EVM12L copies from Eminence
The Hempdog is just a Hemp cone on an EM12

I put these in a Harley Benton vertical 2x12

I wanted a 2x15 like you

I run my bas modeler into it with a separate power amp

I'm a big fan of the Eminence Cannabis Rex for guitar, so I have always been curious about the Hempdog. How do you like it?

I've been wanting to get a cab with a hempdog/hempdogs in it. What I really want is a speaker with a neo-mag and a hemp cone.

I have the 2x12 in my Marshall, never seen the 15 before that is very cool. They are, without a doubt, my best-sounding speakers. I just dragged that cab through a snowstorm because there was no way I was going into the studio without it.

Interesting. I believe you. I don't need another guitar cab at the moment, but when I do, I'm going to check it out!

For now, I want to complete my bass rig. I've put it off for 5 years. I almost ordered the newer GK RB Legacy 1001 tonight, but I need to get the bass cabs built first.

nice! i have a pair of eminence 10" neo mag, hemp cone speakers. basslite ch2010 and they are great! they are only 150w rms though and have been discontinued for a while now
