Belated NAD + NPD

Hey guys.

Just thought I'd share a few bits I've picked up recently:

Orange Micro Terror:

I picked this up a few weeks ago after trying 1 out when Toe-Knee from the forum came down to see me for the weekend. I think we were both pretty surprised at how loud this was and how good it sounded (relatively speaking obviously) for what it is and how cheap it is.

We tried it in the shop through a Orange 2x12 with V30s and at 3 or 4 on the volume dial it'd easilly be enough to do a gig with if you were playing mic'd up, and don't need 'br00talz' levels of gain, and this is exactly what I bought it for; incase I ever get a valve blow again or some other amp problem at a gig I can pull this out and get by.

I'm not going to sit here and say it sounds as good as my SLO clone or Splawn Quick Rod, but it really did impress me with it's sound and it's small size makes it an ideal gig backup incase the worst happens.

Next up is a pedal Toe-Knee built for me:

It's based on a Fulltone OCD V3 but with a few tweaks.

I use this pedal on the crunch channel of my SLO clone to push it for more Overdrive and it works very well for this.

The Cut switch hollows out the midrange a bit if that's what you like, but I don't use it much tbh.

It's a very fat sounding boost that thickens up the midrange and beefs up my sound which I like as I'm the only guitarist in my band so it really helps fill things out.

I knew you would end up buying one of those amps the second that we tried it when I came down to visit.

it was very impressive to say it's what I considered a "toy" amp.

Now all you need is some clips!

Yep! :scratchch

The valves in my Splawn blowing at practice a few months ago have made me a bit paranoid of it happenign at a gig; so now I have this as a backup if it ever happens again!

Re: Belated NAD + NPD

that orange is sweet

Thanks!

For anyone interested I tried it at practice on Tuesday night and even through my 1x12 cab with CL80 speaker it was easilly enough to keep up with our drummer in the small room we practice in.

Tonally it isn't as good as my main amps, but it's more than adequate for the backup use I bought it for.
