Best $350 guitar you can buy....

Godin LG P90. Hands down, what a sleeper. This one needs a very very slight touch up on the fret ends. The neck is a natural oiled finish it feels like. The workmanship seems to be killer and this one intonates properly so far. 4 of the 6 were dead on perfect, I'm going to wait for the neck to settle down from the trip.

Duffuses didn't loosen the strings before they airmailed it to me.

I highly recommend you give it a try if you want a great guitar that is kinda a cross between a Lester and a Tele. And it fits in a lot of guys budgets.

THe neck radius is flat as a pancake, 16" perhaps. It feels wide almost like an acoustic. The finish is dark gold metallic, just beautiful. I'll have to shoot some pics next to the goldtop 535 for contrast. I'll post those later.

Is this the same one you were having the intonation problems with? Did they exchange it for you, or something?

Sounds sweet, other than whatever your initial problems were. :)

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

ive played a godin like that in a shop. I agree was very nice value for money. Made in Canada arent they?

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

Canadian parts, assembled in the US. 24.75 scale length.

This is a replacement for the messed up one.

I've really got my heart set on a 56 Reissue Les Paul, but I think this one will fill the void while I search. I can always sell it on ebay later and probably just about break even.

I mean the pups alone are worth 150 bucks as they are Duncan P90s. The gig back has to be worth at least 75 bucks. It's got a sweet neck support pad with a big velcro strap to secure the neck to the case/pad. I gotta go shoot some pics.

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

Scale length is supposed tp be 24 3/4's ;)

They are assembled in America from parts made in Canada and have some seriously nice guitars out there. In a years time I hope to have a Multiac Nylon or the LGX SA

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

glad that worked out, Scott

now you got me checkin the Flat 5's :)

For $350, the MIM Fender Standard Strat or Tele will give you a decent playing instrument that you can modify to suit your own tastes. Last I checked the price on them is about $349.

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

I find the general fit, finish and quality of the Godin's better than MIM's ... and definatly better playing for me than the Mexican Strats (Tele's I have a soft spot for). I'm also quite biased towards the necks.

The P90 LG already comes with Duncans ... hmmm not too shabby

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

The best $350 ever spent was Sweet Lou's Washburn HB-35 for a flamed maple 335 copy with Seth's. Godins are sweet! I'm with Prophet...that nylon Multiac is what I want. I'm still trippin on my DeArmond M-72 with HSC, for $275.

I'm telling you guys, stop talking about the great cheap guitars! You're ruining it for yourselves! Trust me, I know what I'm talking about on this topic.

I'm just glad that no-one has mentioned how great old Hondo II's are, I'm keeping that secret to myself. Whatever you do, don't go looking for those. I want to keep them all for myself.

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

i picked up my godin for 250. Granted, it doesnt have a flame top and is a lower end model, it still kicks a MIM arse any day. a set of duncans. new pots, caps, and custom knobs, and its still less than a MIM, more versatile, and sounds better.....and its handmade and assembled in the usa.....ill take it any day over a MIM strat or tele. DeArmond is a closer fight though.

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

I went outside a few hours ago to take a few pics and I just played and played and played. This is one very sweet guitar. I ended up tweaking the set up a bit. I just couldn't wait for the neck to do it's thing, so I might have to do it again in a few days.

Get this, the strap buttons are Schallers strap locks, just like all my other guitars! The nut is cut well as you'll see when I post some pics. The entire surface of the guitar is just one smooth line when you look down while playing it. Good gravy, I'm impressed.

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

I think I'll suspend my search for a '56 RI for you, Scott. I think that you're over the urge, for the time being..lol

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

You gotta love the companies that are bent of proving themselves. People automatically think they suck, since they're cheap, but guess what??? We know something you don't!!!! When you find a company giving away $800 guitars for pennies on the dollar, you've gotta say something. And the Duncan forum is the perfect place!!!

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....
