I think I'll suspend my search for a '56 RI for you, Scott. I think that you're over the urge, for the time being..lol

don't so that! I've got a nice lead on a 56RI in Seattle I'm supposed to look at the week after next if its still available.

Bad news.... my son seems to have absconded with my new Godin. Damn.

Re: Best $350 guitar you can buy....

I agree with you guys that MIM Strats and Teles are great guitars, but I'm not sure if they are great values. The pickups are way sub par. Also, the fret work on most of those MIMs are not that great. The gig bag that comes with them, if one comes with them, is usually crap. Oh and there is the issue of Strap locks. Now, look at the MIM tuning keys. Love em? A lot of folks change them pretty fast.

So, if you add 200 bucks in parts to a MIM, you now have a really good 550 buck guitar.

I was just pointing out that for 350, you get the complete package, nothing needs to be changed out and you get a super deluxe gig bag. I'm kinda an old guy and I've seen a lot of gig bags and this one is a real keeper. I'll go shoot some pics of it.

Done, photos are now up on the gig bag, check it out. It's a great bag!

Break it down. 150 for the pups, 100 for the bag, upgraded tuners, great quality bridge. The way I see it is that after you pay for all the extras, the guitar costs you less than 100 bucks.

I can dig it, nice score! Stock Duncans, wow! Is that Tone Pros I see?

Just saw this post, nope, not a tonepros. Looks like a Schaller tuneomatic to me. The grooves in the saddles are cut as nicely as the nut is. Check out the pictures.
