This is going to sound prosaic, but the best one is the one that works best for you!

I have a mess of old 5751s. My fave is the green-label GE/JAN one, however.

I needed a 5751 for my twin and my local shop had a JJ for 14 bucks. Tried it out and it sounds surprisingly good!

My vote goes for NOS JAN/Philips 5751, as well

I've been wanting to try one in V-1 of my Bogner XTC.....I only run the gain about half way up most of the time. I want to see if I can smooth it out just a little..........on the right track?

I think if you are finding the top end a little harsh it would probably be a good fit for you.
