Best 6 in line tuners?

Re: Best 6 in line tuners?

I've always liked the Grover locking tuners the best..... and I put lockers on all of my TOM/Stop guitars as well. I've also had good luck with Kluson locking tuners on LP's that aren't drilled for Grover.

That's a nice lookin' Les Paul. :32:

Re: Best 6 in line tuners?

I've been using Wilkinson EZ-lock tuners I bought "new but secondhand" for ~20$. Rock solid tuning stability without strings trees and heavy tremolo use despite not having real locks.

It's impossible to change strings in them without pliers though. But I need them anyway to cut the strings, so that doesn't really matter.

Planet Waves are my go-to brand for tuners. Really like the feel and tuning accuracy they give me for my needs.

that would be a no go for me. if i break a string on stage, i dont have time to dig around for pliers. with sperzels i can change a string in about a minute in a pinch

Re: Best 6 in line tuners?

Not that I've ever heard.

When I had a les paul I used Grover locking rotomatics and they dropped right in.

Take measurements on the existing tuners and see what matches that you can buy. It'll be less hassle that way. No drilling and stuff.

I can confirm this. The Grover Rotos are a drop in replacement.

I can see that would be annoyance for gigging musician.

In 10 years, I have never broken a string when playing...

Re: Best 6 in line tuners?

I normally just get gotoh as the price is good and the quality is decent. I wouldn't mind trying the graphtech ones.

Have used them all and wish you could get the Washburn Tuners Grover had Ghoto build for the old MG's and Silverados now new without the Washbun logo. Have them on all my Washys except the MG 104 and to me they are the easiest to use most stable of any lockers I have ever used. Bought up several NOS sets a few years ago of those. Have a set of the chrome Ghotos on my Mex Strat and they are close but just not the same.
