Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Am I the only person here who plays a Tele through a Marshall?

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

No....Tele thru the Edana (JTM45) is darn fine too :beerchug:

Actually, I play my Tele's the most & they're great thru EVERY amp I've used :D

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Hey guys! Got inspired by the post below!

What would you think, would be the best amp for a 'Classic' tele, with a humbucker in the neck, or just another single coil? Bring on the (non country) twang! :P

This is a clip of a Tele straight into a tweed Tremolux clone (similar to the Fender Deluxe). All single-coil. For pedals, get yourself an OD or boost of some sort. I like the Keeley Time Machine Boost for a clean boost, and a TS808 for a bit more bite.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

blackface fenders or tweed fenders and early marshalls

one of the best sounds ive heard was an old black guard tele into fender reverb into a tweed super.

personally i love my esquire into my celtic tweed deluxe

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

hmmmmm i'm on a bit more of a budget. So its either going to be the tweed blues jnr, or the tween 15w Traynor with the 12inch speaker, i will replace with JJ tubes and a jenson speaker! Ts 808 check, might get a Vox Wah aswell ( had to sell all my old gear when i moved to the other side of the country :( ).

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

I like the '57 tweed a LOT with a tele.... I also like the Fender champ. Can't go wrong with an AC30, though.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

I know the traynor has a bright switch with gets it into fender ball park, i'm hoping the jj tubes and jensen speaker will get me the rest of the way...any other tips?? I like the dual channel of the jensen, and i can change in and out the speaker ( comes with a green back ) for a change of sound

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

hmmm i know weber make a replacement for the jensen speakers....any recommendations?

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

I personaly like the sound of a tele into my Musicman HD-150...those have to be some of the warmest amps at lower volume anywhere, and the Tele just comes to life in that circuit.

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

The "tweed" Blues Jr. isn't a true tweed, but there are loads of mods out there for it, so you may want to go that route. How close they'll get you to that raw sound you want, I don't know.

My Teles sound great through pretty much all of my amps, most especially the AC30 and the Celtic Caitlin (tweed Tremolux clone).

Re: Best Amp for a Fender Telecaster!

Tele into a Fender Twin, Bassman or any other tweed or blackface Fender will sound stunning.

Tele into a Vox AC-30, well, Edge has proved that it sounds amazing.

Tele into a JCM 800: Pure bad ass tone!

Reallym it's a Tele, it'll sound great no matter what!!
