Check out the Mesa rectoverb. I have found the cleans to be very good. If you add a little delay and chorus they're beautiful :32: . The distortion channel is incredible of course. If your worried about the 50 watts being too little compared to the dual rect's 100, don't. The rectoverb is loud, really loud.
I owned a triple recto and I sold it for the rectoverb. The triple was just too much and the rectoverb is way more versatile. Cheaper to maintain also with tube changes. This of course isn't the most important thing, but the rectoverb is a pretty classy lookin amp IMO. Tube it with chinese pre's and jj 6l6's and your in business.
I've heard great things about the rivera knucklehead too. I'd love to try one of those myself, so check that out too.
