Best Blues Songs By Rock Bands?

I've recently been getting into songs written by rock bands that have a bluesy feel, but still sound like rock. Blues Rock isn't quite the thing I'm trying to describe either I dont think. Here are some examples,

Since I've Been Loving You- Led Zeppelin
Money- Pink Floyd
Blue Jean Blues- ZZ Top

That type of thing. Anyone wanna add to the list?

While blues rock really isn't the rock I like, I'll add this:

Check out Aerosmith doing 'Baby please don't go' circa 2006. They did a whole blues album, citing that its what they always want to do!

Otherwise - just about anything by the Rolling Stones.

Go listen to the first 20–25 years or so of rock-n-roll music. It's 80 to 90 percent straight white-boy blues, or slightly-tweaked white-boy blues (the latter of which I believe you are looking for).

AC/DC - The Jack (if I remember right). Stiff upper lip album has some quite bluesy stuff also.

Peer Günt - You Let A Good Man Go

And don't forget Gary Moore.

Rain by Candlebox, the 1st half or so anyway. Then it goes full blown rock. Absolutely killer blues in the beginning, guy can really play
Little Boy Blues by Triumph Rik Emmett is a very under rated player.
Try Me by UFO More of a ballad with a killer blues solo at the end. Any old Michael Schenker should fit the bill

Just about everything AC/DC Bon Scott era is laden with blues and plenty afterwards as well.
Badlands - Jake E Lee's band after Ozzy
Great White
Tora Tora
Danzig
Black Sabbath, especially the earlier stuff.
Hendrix.

There's a ton of it out there.

You may want to check out some of the more modern blues guys as well. A lot of them did some heavier blues stuff.

Luther Alison
Early Melvin Taylor.

Jeff Healey.

Eric Gales

Rory Gallagher

Early Zeppelin: I Can't Quit You Babe, You Shook Me, How Many More Times, The Lemon Song, The Girl She Got Long Black Wavy Hair, & Since I've Been Loving You. The track of I Can't Quit You Babe on the Coda LP is probably the best version of this song done by any band. Cream did some nice heavy blues too: Sitting on Top of the World, Sleeply Time Time, & Crossroads.

Also Procol Harum: Whiskey Train. West, Bruce & Lang: Third Degree.

Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
Black Magic Woman - Santana

^ Two that immediately jump out in my mind

Do you have Sirius satellite radio? Listen to Ozzy's Boneyard. Classic hard rock & metal. It varies week to week but some days 90% of what they play fits the window you are describing: AC/DC, UFO, Foghat, Blackfoot, early Aerosmith, Cream, etc.
For a while in the 1970s practically all hard rock was bluesy.

Re: Best Blues Songs By Rock Bands?

I think he means rock songs that have a bluesy feel, not written in 12-bar blues progression...duh.

I suggest Gary Hoey, Ritchie Kotzen and Winery Dogs for killer hard rock riffs but you still get the impressin that these guys come from blues background.
