best choice of PU's for my Godin SD

hi, I'm new in the forum, but for what i've seen it's a pretty nice community .
i recently got a Godin SD and I'm planning on changing the PU's for SD's, but i'm not so sure on what combination to choose.
I mainly enjoy playing fusion, but would like to have a versatile sound palette to choose from(in other words: be able to rock, but able to play soft jazz too)
I was thinking of the seymour custom for bridge(i've red that the JB is too nasal), the vintage rails for the neck(mainly because frank gambale uses it) and maybe the '59 (or something like that) in the middle position.
hopefuly you people can give me some advice on this.
i'll write some details from my guitar and thank you in advance:
body : maple center with poplar wings
neck : maple with rosewood fingerboard
bridge: standard tremolo
24 frets
short scale neck(24.7)
H/S/S configuration

Welcome to the forum! I own a Godin LGT, which is almost exactly the same as the SD except it has a mahogany neck. I had a JB in the bridge for awhile, but didn't feel it was the best match for this guitar. It lacked bass and sounded a little too nasal/icepicky, probably due in part to the maple body. I recently replaced the JB with a Custom which was a definite improvement. It's a more aggressive sounding pickup than the JB and filled out the bottom end. Awesome for rock.

Since you mentioned that you play fusion, you may want to consider the Custom Custom or 59' for the bridge. These pickups can definitely rock out, but could also handle the fusion stuff.

I haven't played any of the single-sized humbuckers so I can't really comment on them. I have a Fender Texas Special in the neck and the stock Godin in the middle, although I recently ordered a Antiquity II Surfer to replace the Texas Special.

Hey man, Welcome To The Forum!!

You could go a number of different ways.

For the bridge the custom will definitely rock out, but it may have a more aggressive sound than you care for. I'd really look into the Custom Custom (CC) or for more of a PAF vibe I'd go for the Pearly Gates. An often overlooked pickup is the Blues Saraceno model, the guys around here who have taken the plunge adore it. You'll also want to look into getting the Trembucker spacing for your bucker.

For the neck and middle it depends on what you want to accomplish.

For true singles (in the regular line) I'd go with the SSL-1s or APS-1's, both of which will give you a convincing vintage tone. The APS use Alnico 2 and will have a smoother high end and be a bit more friendly toward OD/Distortion. I have a strat with APS' and love it dearly, I couldn't imagine a better strat pup.

The Antiquity line would give you vintage correct tone, as well as the wear and look. Maybe the Surfers?

For no hum but a stratty sound, look into the duckbuckers, or classic stacks.

Some guys like single sized buckers, in which case you might want to look into the lil 59's.

i also have a doubt regarding the output volume from the pickups
in the case that i would choose to buy:

bridge: duncan custom
middle: little '59
neck: vintage rails

which little '59(SL59-1b or SL59-1n) should i pick for the middle position so there's no big output(volume) difference between all the positions?
