Well a 69 Nova was really a Chevelle
Wasnt it

Nova didn't come out till 72
I had a 69 chevelle
And a 73 Nova

1969 was the year GM dropped the Chevy II name and rebranded it the Nova. Cool car but terrible name for the Latin market considering that it literally translates into the “Chevy No Go” in Spanish.

The bodies on the newer ones I see are made of "linden" i.e. basswood. Is this also the case for the older ones? Seems like a very delicate / soft wood to be using in a semi

The originals were maple and birch. They could take a beating and sound great still.

Look for a Carr---custom made 339 type made on 48th St, NYC in the late 70s. Excellent guitar...

I have a Dean Shire that is a Les Paul sized single cut archtop semihollow
it is, to me a wonderful instrument

also has a Piezo bridge
so there's that
