Greetings All! This is my first post here. I need some help with my Guitar. I have a Fender Highway One Stratocaster with Alder body and rosewood neck. The biridge has been plugged and set to hardtail. Right now there are the stock Alnico 3 Single coil pickups. What I want to do is create a Hum-Single-Hum configuration and am currently working on the Bridge Pickup. I want to be able to coil-tap the pickup and still maintane a pretty true single-coil tone too because I play a little country picking. I have done plenty of research but am still not sure what to do.
The sound I would like to accomplish (ballpark) is an ANGUS YOUNG type tone for Classic Rock and Blues. I know that the guitar and the player have alot to do with that sound and fully understand that. I just want a Humbucker that would help to produce that tone from a Fender Stratocaster. I am currently using .10 guage strings and would be willing to use .11's if that is necessary. I am using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Tube Amp to run through with NO effects pedals as well.
I have been told to get JB, Alnico 2 Pro, 59 Model, Seth Lover, and Pearly Gates. But I am not sure where to start. I have listened to them on the website and used the tone wizard but am still not sure. So any detailed advice from knowledgable people would be welcomed. Thank you.
