Best kind of string tree?

I have two Teles that I built, and despite staggered height tuners, I have realized that I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and install string trees on the E and B strings (the high E's keep popping out of the nut). What's the best kind of tree? There are round ones, sort of curved to the shape of the string rectangle ones, rollers, graphite, etc....anybody have a preference? Both Teles have traditional 3-barrel bridges, so obviously whammy bars are not a factor here. Thanks for any advice!

I personally like the roller ones, but they look kind of funky. Since you don't have a whammy, you could just use the standard type of fender try like on a strat or something.
BTW, I found myself in the same boat with my Tele, I would just get strange harmonics without them, and the string popping of the nut was driving me crazy as well.

i have used the roller ones and they work good. but i like the vintage style round ones better.

BTW, how do the Graph Tech retainers compare with the Rollers?

a buddy of mine used the graph tech ones for awhile on his strat. but he switched to the rollers. i like the classic looks of the round ones. and they work pretty good.

My preference is the strap that went over the G, B, & E strings on the early G&L's. Since those are no longer available, my second choice is the Graphite string trees.

Given that there is no tremolo, vintage bridge and there is
negligible resistance from unwound B and E strings on any string tree,
a traditional tele one would do the job and look original.
I tend to use late model Strat ones if I dont need the traditional look,
though they require two holes on the headstock.

I have a vintage one on my strat, and a roller on my tele. The tele is the actual fender guitar, it has better sound, better pressure on the strings, and I don't worry about it breaking strings, I want to get one for my start.

I took the button off my bigsby Tele and replaced it with a graphite, thinking that it would help some... but since the switch I've actually had MORE tuning issues with that guitar! Not that I had many to begin with...

Go figure.
