Best Les Paul Copies?

Re: Best Les Paul Copies?

I stand strongly behind the Guild Bluesbird (get one from the 90s). Chambered bodied les paul. They come stock with SD pickups too. It will blow your mind.

Re: Best Les Paul Copies?

I just finished this one today. Delivering it Monday to this guy http://jjworthen.com/ after I test drive it over the weekend.

I played one of the LPs here: http://www.jhs.co.uk/vintageelectric.html

Very nice playability. Can't comment completely on the tone as the shop where I tried it wasn't well equipped in the amp department.

I own and play a Vintage Lemon Drop - Peter Green/Gary Moore '59 Les Paul tribute guitar. It's ridiculously good for the price and nails the Peter Green out of phase "Need Your Love So Bad" tone perfectly..

Early 80's Burny's

Best LP's for the money and about as good as it gets for any price in fact

Re: Best Les Paul Copies?

The high end Burny's from that era also have the Fernades VH-1 pickups, one of the absolute best sounding PAF clones out there

Re: Best Les Paul Copies?

What year is that Burny LP Custom ?

headstock shape looks slightly different than mine. Looks like it gets a little narrower at the top, sort of like an Epiphone, where mines actually widest at the top, like the Gibson style

Re: Best Les Paul Copies?

Agile makes a badass LP copy.

For american companies, Heritage and PRS make great ones too. Some better than lps in my opinion.

Agile makes a decent LP copy for the money, and the 2500 and up range are typically good guitars for the money, but dispite owning 3 or 4 agiles, I've never found one that I truely felt was a great LP

Lawsuit LoveRocks, Burny's, Edwards, Grecro and Orville's or basically any MIJ LP copy as a whole will beat any Agile hands down

Not quite the same deal with modern Burny, Greco etc as now they are largely made in Korea or Tiawan

Pretty much any MIJ guitar from the 80's is going to be a real performer though, even something like a Squier belive it or not.

It was an amazin era of Japanese craftsmanship and material selection that pretty much blew anything away from the States even from Fender and Gibson's own lines

Re: Best Les Paul Copies?

Nice looking Edwards but you've got to loose that gold cover if you've got the zebra in the bridge my friend lol

One thing I can never figure out on a ivory guitar is if the knobs look better black or gold. I've got gold on mine to match the hardware but can never make up my mind when I switch to black

Exact year is unknown. We are sure it is from the 1980s, but they didnt serial number them back then so there is no definative way to pinpoint..

Id love to know.
