im wantin to beef up my fat strats bridge humbucker, I wanta pickup that can easily diminish that metallica/pantera tone and at the same time can get great blistering sustaining solos such as zack wylde, rhoads, d.darrel. i was thinking maybe possibly the full shred, Maybe you can help me out.

Try either the Duncan Distortion or the Dimebucker, contrary to what people say about it, it isn't shrill at all. My friend has one in his Jackson(alder body) and it sounds sweet, ass-load-and-a-half of output.

While I've never tried one, I would think a Dimebucker would do the trick. Afterall it is what Dime was using, and that's pretty much metal up your ass right there.

The PA-TB2 distortion trembucker. The standard distortion is like 16 ohms. This one is 21.3, Really Fu**in hot!!!!!!!

Why the hell would you want a 21k pickup? I don't see how that could possibly sound good, even for the heaviest tones.

EMG 85! It's got that cut and has output and vintage at the same time! Good in the neck too.....if you put it away from the stings.

Id use a Distortion or a Full shred, i have the full shred in my strat and i wouldent swap it for anythng, i love it.

duncan JB or the emg 81
either of these will do it for ya.
the JB is much more versitle though.
I had a distortion that i returned, i did not care for it much
what makes the JB so great is not only does it have a great tone but it will do van halen one minute then do slayer the next :saeek:
many a metal player uses one for these reasons
