I was at guitar center the other day, and the Boss OD3 overdrive kicks the SHIZ out of a Boss DS1 or SD1 anyway. That thing for $70 bucks is great.

+100 on the Barber DD. A great great little pedal with lots of versatility. Very fluid and singing.

Are the newer Boss OD3s better than what was out a 4 or 5 year ago? I got one and I hate it. It totally changes your sound and is very dark.

Haven't read all the posts so i don't know if it's been suggested, but what about that new Dyna Drive? It's supposed to respond to dynamics and it might just give you that kind of drive your seeking.
