Best Overdrive to Medium Gain Pedal

Re: Best Overdrive to Medium Gain Pedal

Well, if you don't mind building it yourself, I'd look at BYOC and general guitar gadgets. The BYOC OD-II is mad versatile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37RfgSdn53w
And GGG makes good copies of the TS808, Marshall Bluesbreaker, MXR/DOD overdrives, etc. And if you're jonesing for the KOT, you can modify the GGG bluesbreaker kit to KOT specs if you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

Just my .02

Re: Best Overdrive to Medium Gain Pedal

Someone posted this link not too long ago. The clips sound really good, but I have no experience with them. Wampler pedals. If I were to buy any OD pedal today, I'd take a hard look at these!
I'm digging the Pinnacle.
That was probably me. I've only got direct experience with the Pinnacle which kinda goes from medium gain upwards I wouldn't say it does mild overdrive but there are other pedals he has maybe better suited to over drive. His pedals tend to sound more amp like unlike typical overdrive (ala OD-1 or SD-1) or distortion (ala DS-1) of course heaps of manufucters make more amp based pedals these days.

Re: Best Overdrive to Medium Gain Pedal

I just made this prototype OD pedal.
It is with a Tele bridge pickup and gain at 9 o'clock, 12 o'clock , Full and tone just after 12 o'clock.
