Best pickups for my Jackson JS-22 7?

Re: Best pickups for my Jackson JS-22 7?

My first comment; Since this is your first guitar, and you are using amp sims, don't worry about the pickups. First, you are gonna have enough of a hard time just making that sound for the first year or more even if you had that exact gear. Second, if you are using amp sims/plugins etc...that will get 90%+ of the sound right there.

But fine - you have the cash and you want the pickups? I believe Ola uses Black Winters. Don't make it harder than it is.

However...I'll say that you might seriously consider some lower output pickups. One approach might be to try something like a 59. Clear, clean, and articulate....and then slam it through all the dirt you want. Often a hot pickup through a distorted amp just sounds like mush.

Yet another approach - go for maximum articulation. Maybe a Jazz/Jazz, or Full Shred set.

my problem here is that this stock pickups sounds muddy... the single notes sounds more like a crunch in the palm mutes even turning the gain to the maximum (using presets that is supposed to sound ok)

are you referring to the Sh-1b 59 Humbucker? the black winters are a bit more expensive, i want the best option
