best place to find guitars that need some TLC

ok guys i have always bought new guitars that i have had to mod to become happy with. I have always wanted to get a used USA charvel, jackson, old SG, or KRammer and take it on as a project. Where do ya'll search for these little boogers. Everytime i fine one the people want way to much for them.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened this thread.

Anyway, the flea-market has been berry berry good to me. I've scored some amazing deals. The thing is, you have to go early and regularly.

^that is the real question. You're unlikely to find any high end project guitars dirt cheap.

eBay always has guitars that need some work, some go pretty cheap. A surprising number of people are pretty careless and rough with their guitars.

Usually any high end guitar that you find cheap needs more than just a little TLC... usually they have big scary issues hiding under the refinned paint. The best way to go about this is save up some cash now and have it on hand get yourself 500 bucks or so. Then start trolling around the local classfieds and craiglist for good deals. You will have to deal with chomers and flakes but once in awhile you get the guy who just needs cash now and if you have cash now you run wiht it in hand and shove it in his face.
