Best strat-style on the market today?

Re: Best strat-style on the market today?

Aren't Squiers made of plywood?

no, they're not. Maybe the bullets, but the standards, the VMs, the deluxes, and the classic vibes are usually between 3 and 5 pieces or alder, agathis, red cedar, pine, or basswood.

Nothing at all wrong with a Fender anything IMHO.

In that price range I'd buy a Classic Series and upgrade the pickups, get a hard shell case and have money left over.

+1 Fender IMHO in that price range is the way to go. Just be patient and keep looking until you find the one that fits you.

USA Custom Guitars

X2, I have a neck from them that is better than the best neck I'd ever touched before it.

It is unreal.

They also sold me a mahogany slab that is ridiculous.

It's a one piece slab, solid. It's LIGHT and sounded like music when knocking on it even before I had shaped it into a guitar.

Both that neck and that slab will be joined in holy matrimony soon and will rip the fabric of space-time

I'd personally get either an ESP Vintage Plus or a G&L.

Yeah I like those ESP's, I just dislike that they're "pre-worn" (I'd rather do the wearing, not a factory), and they're really hard to find and kind of overpriced.

The older ones aren't relic'd, and they are fantastic!! They're on Ebay frequently.
