I need to flip the saddle on my g string. And was wondering what what the best way to remove the retaining wire is. I've only tried to remove one once before and it got all bent up. And wouldnt go back on right.

On my Epiphone, I used to use needlenose pliers and pull out the parts where the ends of the wire turn horizontal and plug into the front/back of the bridge.

Get two sewing needles (or similar implements), one in each hand. One gets under the wire right on the inside "corner" that is made where the wire makes its final bend and goes into the bridge on one side. The other needle lifts the wire gently off of the nearest saddle screw. Needle one works the wire out of the hole on one side, as the top needle is slid down the span of the wire, lifting the wire off of each saddle as it goes. Before reinstallation, the wire can be bent into a downward arch across its span, just to make sure that it rides the saddle screws when installed.
