BF Fender Reverb Driver Tube?

I need a good reverb driver tube for my BF Pro Reverb amp...I need something that is a 12AX7,but has lower overall gain..I currently have a Chinese 12AX7 in there and these are pretty gainey tubes...

Give me some good ideas on a lower gain 12AX7 for my ole Fender amp....Thanks all..

Shouldn't that be a 12AT7? With a 12AX7 as the Reverb Recovery tube? I use a gray plate NOS RCA in both positions in my old Super Reverb. That's the only amp I have at home right now...everything else has been moved into storage for the upcoming move. Lew

i use 5751 tubes-really clean, a tad of compression when turned up, a bit less definition than your run of the mill 12ax7's.

Oh stupid me! Yes Lew....I had a bad tube and tryed a 12AX7 in it's place...No wonder I have to turn the reverb down to like 1.5 :smack:

What a dumbass! Thanks Lew....I have NOS 12AT7s also....Cool...

Lew is right.....I needed to stick a 12AT7 in the slot and not a 12AX7.... :smack: :burnout:

my bandmaster has no reverb so i wouldnt know! I just use 5751 in all the spots except the phase inverter, and V1 where i have a mullard reissue.

The hot rodding of the reverb didn't do it for me,and so I'm back to the correct tube...The 12 "AT" 7 :smack: :wink:

She's all better now...Thanks for posting guys.. :dance:
