Bjorn Gelotte of In Flames... Gear?

Hey guys, gear question about Bjorn! I love his tone on Whoracle and well... all his tones really lol. I heard that he uses Les Pauls with EMG 81's through Peavey 5150s.... is this accurate?

Someone tell me what this man uses to achieve his amazingly defined and heavy tone!!

Almost accurate. He and Jesper Stromblad use EMG 85's for the mid-range focus.

Yep got my 85 in last night. So far it's pretty good......I need to get better strings though. I had to take off my strings again after the install because the springs I had would not get my pups close enough to the strings. Used the old springs and Voila!!

I'll make a better judgement later.

They used Gibsons on stage, I didn't pay much attention to the pickups, but the amps sounded somewhat digital. And they were nothing compared to Judas Priest..

Sweet! Thanks Sanguis! One question though, I know they say the 6505 and 6505+ are the same as 5150 and 5150 II, but are they really the same thing and can you really get the same tones?

Where did you see them, i saw them in stockhol myself last week

Yeah, gear's been listed, but Bjorn has a POD Pro (the original 2.0 I beleive, it's NOT and XT) in his rack.

In any case thanks guys, I've been hooked on In Flames for awhile now.... and I've heard that a whole bunch of other great Metal guys like Children of Bodom are using 5150s as well! Just clarifying.
