Black LP Custom question

Re: Black LP Custom question

I baby that crap out of my les paul custom and even with regular cleaning (every time after i play), the low E side of the bridge has been completely rubbed free of gold on the corner.

Yeah. I had good numbers of gold hardware guitars. That "maintenance" thing doesn't make a difference. The rubbing is mechanical during playing, not chemical afterwards.

Re: Black LP Custom question

That thing has a richlight fretboard ewwww

I like two things about that:
- how Gibson uses it on some of the most expensive guitars
- how all the other manufacturers have to do the same thing due to ebony shortages

Re: Black LP Custom question

mine has ebony =). Id bet that if gibson kept dying it black and didn't come out and say it was richlight, id bet people wouldn't even notice. Ive heard ebony isn't even naturally black, and that they dye it too

True, but it is naturally a very dark wood. I've noticed that it'll get slightly lighter if you go a long time without treating it with something (Dr. Duck's Axe Wax, etc), and play a lot.
