Re: blackout for a baritone?

Well, the BOs are known for having good sound in drop tuning.
Push-Pull? Do you mean coil splitting in this case?
BOs can only be run in humbucking mode.

nono, the volume pot is push-pull in the sense that it also acts as a pup selector

pull=neck single coil
push=bridge hum

are normal volume pots 25k? considering this pot is stock, which was paired with a jb and it works with dimarzio d-sonic, i shouldn't need to switch volume pot for the blackout right?

Re: blackout for a baritone?

I'd go with an X2N bridge pickup. DEFINITELY should be brutal enough for whatever you throw at it. And it drop-tunes really well. The lower your tuning, the more aggressive it gets.

And no your stock pots won't work with blackouts. Passive humbuckers like the JB and D-Sonic usually use 500k pots. You'll need to switch to 25k pots if you use the blackout.

Hope this helps!

ah that answered my question~

isn't there a d-activator X which combines the d-activator and x2n????

Re: blackout for a baritone?

yes, the D-Activator X is a GREAT metal pickup. It's the best of all worlds. It's got that chunky low end like the Duncan Distortion. It's got the raw output and power of the X2N. and the top end clarity of an EVO. I just got mine a few weeks ago and put it in one of my RG's. I love it.

cool~ where can i hear this new pickup???

Re: blackout for a baritone?

uh....not sure lol. I can't post sound bites right now because most of my recording equipment is being borrowed by a buddy of mine. Thing is though, because it's a newer pickup, if you bought it and then decided you didnt like it, someone would buy it for pretty close to retail, so you haven't got much to lose. I would try it if i were you. I LOVE the sound i get out of it. i couldn't be happier with it.
