blend 3'd pickup into 2 pickup master volume ckt

Hi,

picture shows it all, normal 2 pickup to master volume with 3'd pickup
attached on a pot. Will this just fade in the 3'd pickup? Will the ckt
effect tone/volume when the 3'd pickup is disabled (grounded)?
