Blocking a stabndard 6-screw Strat trem

I'm planning on buying a strat body, but they only came with standard trem cavity, so I'll have to buy a trem, but I'd prefer a hardtail for this Start that will be used or harder rock with H-H config.

I heard I can block the trem and make a hardtail out of it. How do you do that? Is it easy? Is it effective?

Are there any web site that describe this?

Thanks in advance.

I have mine blocked. I put on all five springs, screwed the claw in all the way and fit wooden shims in behind the trem block. you don't really have to use the shims tightening the claw and using all the springs is enough to block it. The shims just give it a different sound. See which one you like better.

It will help stablize the bridge(Staying in tune) And add a Lil' sustain.
Not a very noticable improvement,But if you never plan on useing the trem
it's a good Idea. I used a piece of wood floor molding on mine.:D
