I can hear the diff between mp3 and m4a (an Apple AAC compression file).
Given the choice, I'd rather use m4a, but mp3's play in more systems.

Good stuff. MP3 seems way more universal, so for all my meager efforts at recording, I go 192 mp3. I didn't realize some of what was posted so I love learning a few new tidbits each day. Thanks.
