Re: Blog: The YJM Low Friction High Speed Pot

How much are these and where can I buy them?

I don't have any problems with my volume knob now but I wouldn't mind trying one. I use my volume/tone knobs more than most other people I jam with. I am constantly touching and moving them hehe... everyone else it seems just sets them in one area and doesn't touch it the rest of the night.

I would like to recommend everyone read the blog. :) But, really, I love these things.

I have used TV tuner cleaner on a regular CTS, it gets really slippy and quick if you replace the grease with mineral oil in the cleaner.

These are made by Bourns and are w/o a doubt the slickest pots I've ever used!!!

I wish the taper was a little different but once you get used to the taper they feel great.

Question: how different are these from regular Bourns pots? I have a Bourns volume pot in a couple of my guitars, and they're very fast.

they're about $12 shipped on Ebay all day long-- just search for YJM 500K (or 250K, depending on your need).

I had an EVH one in my main guitar for a while but it would always bleed a little when on 0. Liked loose the feel and taper though. Bit annoying that you can only get them with a solid shaft.
