Blues Junior Tweed or Black

Hey guys,
Going to get the Blues Junior once i've sold my Marshall JTM30.
Just wondering.
Is the Tweed version worth the extra cash?
I love the look of the tweed. The only difference i know is the speaker. It's about 200AUD (around 250USD) more than the normal.
Even if the speaker is even slightly better, i don't mind paying the extra just cause the tweed looks so sweet.

:) Let me know.
Anything i should change when i get it, or should it sound great stock. I played a non tweed one and it was amazing. I loved it.!

Do you have a chance to A/B the two amps? If so, do that and decide whether the look and difference in tone is worth the extra 200 AUD.

I've never tried the regular Blues Jr., but I played and really liked the tweed version of it. It was relic'd as well -- I'm not sure if all the tweed ones are.

I really like my black one, but I did change the speaker and that was a major improvement, while the tweed Blues Jr. doesn't have as nice a speaker as the one I put in mine, it is still a nice speaker and if you really like the tweed look more, then it's worth the extra cash.

tweed is sooo kool , i have the black one but last time at GC saw the tweed one , looks awesome

Re: Blues Junior Tweed or Black

The thing is the tweed one is at another location (across australia) i think they'll only bring it in if i was interested in the tweed. :(

Re: Blues Junior Tweed or Black

I know, but if i decide on the Black one instead, Will they get pissed off. Hahaha i think i'll go the tweed. It does look REALLY nice. I'd pay an extra 100 for tweed. That means its 100 for the better speaker. Sounds like a good deal to me :).
Man that and my new Antiquities in my tele are gonna be AMAZING... stoked.

Dude, they're working for you, not the other way around. They'll get their profit margin from your wallet one way or another. This is called customer service, and if they want your business, they'll get one of each in their shop for you. Then you go in there, spend at least half an hour A/B-ing them, then hand them your money and walk away with the right amp.

From your perspective, they've been accommodating to your needs. From their perspective, they sold you an amplifier you're quite likely not to return.

Let them know you'd like to be able to put them side-by-side to figure out which one you want. That in and of itself will make it clear enough to them that you're a serious buyer. In short, the deal's already in the bag. In fact, if they bring a tweed in for you to try, that's the more expensive amp, which means they'll be happier as well post transaction.

Re: Blues Junior Tweed or Black

which tweed, the relic or the new one? i think the relic uses an alnico jensen p12r where the other uses a c12n

Re: Blues Junior Tweed or Black

Really, 2 different speakers? That might explain why I liked the relic more!

A girl I date thought the Black looked cooler. I prefer the relic. Interesting story, I played a gig in a ritzy place with my Relic, and the people LOVED the look and kept asking about it like it was some vintage piece. Lame, but true. Non guitar aficianados love it.

I am still deciding between a Relic BJ v Black BJ v Fender DRRI, v Princeton Verb.
