Bogner Bliss

I missed winning an auction on an Airbrake recently. Do you think the Airbrake is clearly better than a THD? I'll get one of them soon enough. Right now, I'm spending all my free money on glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses.
I'd rather play loud'n'proud than look like 'Mr. 4 eyes' right now. :laugh2:

I've never owned a THD so I can't do a true comparison. i do see a lot of ex-THD users that claim the Sirbrake fixed all their THD complaints, though.

Lets put it this way... as far as what's actually coming out of the amp, the tonal difference is negligible unless you're running on bedroom level and even then it ain't that bad. Speaker movement can never be substituted for though.

I'm completely happy with mine. Zero complaints, zero concerns. next to my guitar and the actual halfstack this is a "dont leave home without it" peice!

Yeah, it's time to get one. My amp's nickname is Mr. Volume.

1 - 2 - 3 - 4

Gearjoneser's a volume whore!

2 - 4 - 6 - 8

Drop some cash, attenuate!

Trust me, you'll love an Airbrake.

I think I'm gonna be sick. Look at this deal someone got. I frikkin' got sidetracked last night and forgot to bid. Sometimes I hate life..........

I'm glad you didn't bid on that. You probably would have been scammed ;)

1) The guy has never sold an item before
2) He only has had "3" transactions on eBay
3) He is selling a Bogner amp and he _doesn't_ know what the model is :27: (c'mon, the guy created the auction without specifying what it was... that means there's a good chance he's clueless)

It's waaaaayyyyyyyyyy too fishy and I'm sure that's why it didn't get as much attention. It looks to me like it's a 15w Metropolis (the seller says it's a 30w, but I'm only seeing one poweramp tube. Pretty nice amp, but they routinely sell for around $1400 w/ reverb used.

Buyer beware.

I'm glad you said that. I asked the guy a couple of questions like why does one speaker not have a label or the green around the magnet and also why do the inputs say X and Y and not R and D like the Bogner site says for the newer models (afterall he said it was only a year old). His answers weren't satisfactory and that's why I wasn't real keen on bidding on it.

Chris, have you ever heard/played a Rivera Thirty Twelve by any chance?

I've played a few Rivera's before like the Knucklehead and Jake. I wasn't blown away by them, but I could see where some folks would like them (seem to be built pretty well, they aren't very expensive, etc.). I've found most Riveras to have too many different switches/knobs for me. I remember really digging Demeter amps that same time I tried those Riveras out.
