Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

In its simplest form from what Ive read, Bogner = $$$, Bugera = Blackstar

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

It’s easy to google it:

“Bogner Amplification is an American guitar amplifier manufacturing company founded by Reinhold Bogner in 1989 in Los Angeles, California. Bogner began by custom-building boutique amplifiers based on classic (blackface) Fenders, and now offers different models of serially produced amplifiers.”

Bugera is a brand name used by Behringer. They are good amps that are priced a bit lower.

For the love of all that’s unholy, not another behringer thread!

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

Wow - Bugera=Berhinger.....

Didn't know that.

And for a "classic amp" company - Bogner has some wicked high gain models....

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

Bogner and Line 6 partnered up about a decade ago to make one of the best modeling amps ever, the Spidervalve.

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

I thought it was a joke thread Ace...

Bugera is a Behringer brand, knocking off “classic” amp circuits (1959, 2203, 5150, Recto) with the cheapest components possible. They seem to hold up decently, especially for home use. I almost bought the 1959 then came to my senses that I have no practical use for 100W plexi.

I don’t think their components are any cheaper than Marshall, et al, uses.

I’ve owned Behringer mixers, audio interfaces, pedals, etc. I’ve opened them up and they are all very well made.

It’s like all the $30 Chinese FX pedals on the market. My Joyo Ultimate Drive is exactly the same on the inside as a OCD. It cost me $20 new.

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

I have the Bugera G5
It sounds good for a bedroom amp

Has a ton of features like the amp it clones

The price has gone up dramatically since I got mine

$199 new when I got mine
Sweetwater was firm at $250

Now everyone wants $350

I missed out on that one... the G series would have been much more appropriate for me than the 1960!

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

Bogners have that lower mid thing going on which isn't a bad thing just different. They also sound too smooth like even order harmonics to my ears. Much prefer the MESA Mark series or Rectifier series to the Bogners.
Nothing can compare to the upper mid bark of the older Marshall JMP's, thats where i live.
Bugera would be good for a kid just starting out as it beats by a mile what i started on in the 70's.
But as for a Pro rig or gig rig i would never rely on Bugera as a main amp. Maybe a backup in a pinch.
Bugera quality has improved slighty from years ago but Uli Behringer makes mass produced crap IMO.

I've been playing through a Bogner Extasy Blue model on my G3N. I like it. I don't follow either company. I played Gearjonesers Bogner once and it was pretty nice.

Just neither was ever on my radar.

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

Burgera<-Blackstar.

It's the other way around.. :D

As far as reliability goes...the one's made past a certain date (I think 2012) like my 333XL Infinium work absolutely fine. Prior to that there was a problem (which I'd put down to teething trouble) with a clip that led to the tranny....it would melt. Basically a pretty easily fixed design flaw which was hyped up with jokes/burning Bugera meme's etc until they fixed it..but by then the damage was done.

Sound-wise ...they sound ****ing awesome. As good as anything out there really. In no way do they sound like a toy or cheap at all. I could do a bunch of clip's to prove it. Just say the word :D

Mine's been gigged regularly for the last 7-8 years and I've never had the slightest problem...not once. They fixed the clip thing in 2012 and I bought mine in 2013...

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

mine seems just fine

Bogner is in no way related to Bugera
I dont think Bugera even makes a copy of a Bogner
unless theres something I dont know

they knock off Peavey and Blackstar and Marshall
not Bogner

Re: Bogner vs Bugera: Discuss

Bogner ubers are amazing amps IMO,,,,,,just not game at those prices. Never even considered one due to price.
