Bogner vs. Marshall vs. Splawn

Re: Bogner vs. Marshall vs. Splawn

Not to forget the Competition. If you're looking for the Splawn on a budget and only need 50 watts, you can go that route if you can live without a clean channel, or have a head you can A/B clean with. The Comp can be modded to take KT88s for a more modern sound. At 1350 it's a nice deal with few knobs to monkey with. Every setting every gear and every OD rocks.

All of your input is f'ing awesome! My only question would be to someone who has a/b'd the xtc 101b side by side with the splawn QR, and how they compare.

I think that is our very own Shreder75, with our very own Twilight Odyssey on the list.

I haven't met Scott Splawn (spoke with him on the phone), but I have met Jim Marshall and Reinhold Bogner. While Reinhold is VERRRRY TALL, he is rather gangly and long, I don't see him as a good fighter.

Still, given Jim Marshall's age, I will take Scott because he is a Southerner. I figure he probably played football in HS, and could take down Bogner and Marshall by blindsiding them.

Again, I'm not sure I'm the one to speak specifically to your questions, other than to say welcome, and post in good health.

That being said, I own a Marshall 1960AHW w/ reissue Celestions made in England, staight from a Rivera EL-34 equipt M60, or Mesa F-30, and a Gibby LP standard. In tone terms...I am God. Follow in my footsteps, or choose your own, and no one can touch you. Amen.
