Re: bolt on vs. neck thru
I have a question along these lines...
I have a Fender Celtic Custom Esquire (at least, I think that's the name)...
It has a wierd neck called set-through...I think. There is no seem, no bolt, no glue line, no nothing (double negative...for play...).
What's the story with this design. Is it pretty much the same as neck-through and no one wants to acknowledge this? Or is it some new funky hybrid?
What are the effects on tone I should expect as I go pickup shopping. I have an old custom JB. I like having some clean passages during verse parts/ I don't play many chords, except as arpeggios, and I tend to kick the preamp distortion in on solos using a Mesa F30. I figure this should sound great...
