Bonnamassa and some '56 Goldtop

Re: Bonnamassa and some '56 Goldtop

6 or 8 years ago I was visiting a friend in Ft Wayne Indiana. We decided to go to a local club for a quick drink. Joe Bonnamassa was playing and I mistook him for a local musician.

I was absolutely floored by his guitar playing and tone. It wasn't until some weeks later I learned he was a regional, bordering national act.

This clip although very good is not a great representation of just how good he is

That guy in the beginning at the microphone, was he stoned? I couldn't quite tell. I think he might have been stoned. :chairfall

im gonna be honest, Joe is a great player with great tone and killer chops but that was VERY ho-hum to me...I mean he got the chance to do a Jeff beck tune WITH the band that Jeff used to do it with and didn't bring the fire...it had no punch or stab...

He did give the tube his own personal style though... I agree that the tune was "looser" than it should have been, but that's Bonamassa (at least sometimes)...
