Boss Katana MKll Head

Does anyone know of any really good YouTube demos of this amp featuring killer tones?

Finally got around to diving more into this amp. The effects are unreal and I can't tell much difference in the stomp box versions. Probably the only differences would be more control with the Boss pedals. But you have your Chorus with Super Chorus and Chorus Ensemble. Your Flanger is simlair to the BF-3. Analog delay and digital delay. You got your Metal Zone and DS1. There is many others to choose from. Almost overwhelming. All 3 cab resonance selections are good. Don't really have a favorite, but I tend to use Deep the most so far. I am also impressed with the Acoustic channel. Reverb sounds like the Reverb pedal. The only effect that is missing is the Harmonist. If it's there I haven't seen it yet. 50 watts is loud, too. I've only switched to the 100 watt once. Would need the footswitch to fully take advantage of all that's there. Well worth the price of these Katana amps. Don't think I have played an amp with such dynamics to your picking quite like this one. Pushes a 2×12 cab perfectly fine. I can only imagine running this sucker into a 4×12.

Is it easy to get to most of the effects without hooking up to the computer or phone? There are videos of people going through the effects but they are a little boring lolol

There is quite a few to choose from without hooking it up to a computer. But you'll need to hook it up to a computer to get bunch of others and to fine tune them. It's insane how much is there.

Got the opportunity to check out the new Line 6 Catalyst 60 watt today. Not impressed. It has a few features which I thought was cool. Crunch wasn't too bad. But compared to this amp there is no contest. Way less features and the sound just isn't as good. The Katana MK ll blows it away! Try one and you'll see for yourself. Line 6 must've paid the You Tube reviewers good money to praise it.

If you've spent any time on TGP, you know that there are several L6 employees involved in posting as brand ambassadors. So of course everyone over there has a high opinion of their products, to be part of the "family". Unfortunately, people trying to be objective are given short shrift. Attacked by the mob of rabid L6 fanboys, and eventually silenced if you don't fall in line. Line 6 employees are beyond reproach, (obviously) more important than you, and can engage in bullying behavior that would get other people banned.

Like you, every time I've tried a L6, I've been disappointed. This predates anything I read on TGP. Having tried the Helix, its inconceivable to me that people will discuss it as if its at the same level as Fractal FX3. In fact, I read that Cliff, the designer of Fractal products was banned from TGP. So the mods and L6 employees have curated their own little alternate reality.

Because of the known involvement of L6 staff in online discussion forums, and what appears to be shilling of a high order, I don't trust anything I read in the forums about L6 gear. They could come out with something amazing, but I just wouldn't trust objectivity of public opinion given their past behavior.

Regarding the Catalyst, there are threads on TGP about how its better than the Katana. Oh really? If it was a Fender amp or a new Marshall digital, I might believe it, but because it's Line6, I don't trust the reviews.

As with all brands, there is good and bad stuff. I dig L6's delay pedals and multi-fx, but less so their amps and amp modelers. No involvement from the company on TGP will change that- they simply don't work for me.

I can practically hear it through those Eminence speakers, or something?
