Boss ME20

Anyone got one?

I've had a few multi-FX over the years, Zoom ones, a Behringer one, and after reading a glowing review of the Boss ME20 I just ordered one.

I'm interested to know if anyone here has one? Is it a significant step up from something like a Zoom 505 or Behringer V-Amp?

And, very importantly, how is the wah?

Re: Boss ME20

Yeah, good shout. If I wanted, or could afford, to spend three times the money I paid.

?

I wish I had all USA Jacksons and a real Gibson Black Beauty too.

Anyone got a Boss ME20?

Re: Boss ME20

don't have one, but i also almost ordered one. very meat 'n' potatoes, with all boss-type effects. good deal as it's a constant 4-in-1 with preset memory banks. i'd get one if i was looking to get multi-effects.

Re: Boss ME20

You mentioned a V-Amp... as far as I know, the Boss doesn't have cab/amp simulations, it's a multi FX unit. So it's apples and oranges.

That said, a friend of mine has one of those ME pedals and it's extremely sturdy. And it sounds a million times better than the Boss 505. They're not even comparable! The 505 is a piece of crap. The ME20 is a proper piece of gear. And a pretty good one.

Re: Boss ME20

i hope you enjoy yours better than i enjoyed hearing the one the other guitarist in my band had ... he had a tendency to step on something incorrectly which sent it into howling feedback a few times per night ...

Re: Boss ME20

Thanks for the replies guys. Diego, I never realised the ME20 didn't have amp sims on it, but that suits me fine. I love the tone from my amp anyway, so a straight FX only deal is perfect! :) The V Amp never got much use because I hate the fizzy amp sims on it - only thing I really bothered with was the wah pedal which works a treat.

Re: Boss ME20

yea i got one, they are very versatile, i have had it for about a year now. and i am still trying to find a sound i am real comfortable with, but im pretty newb a guitar tech, it does leave much in the way of expressions or octive manipulation. the distortion has some preset from overdrive to blues to metal, all of which then can be modified. the fx vary from tremolo to flanger to phaser.. these are very solid effect and you will need to play around with these to find the right sound, i find the reverb pretty good to, as for the wah i dont think its that good, but considering the price, and what you get this pedal is a little pocket rocket.

hope my newb dribble helps, although now i have this i want to make a pedal board with individual pedals, like a digitech whammy, n some hardwires, n mi audio..... arrhhh now im dreamin. :P
