Let's talk about these pedals (MT-2 Metal Zone and ML-2 Metal Core). I'm thinking about getting one, because I've heard some nice tones with them, and the few times I've tried a Metal Zone, I was able to get some pretty good tones, in my opinion (extra mids, not that buzzy, scooped tone that every kid seems to dial in reflexively on YouTube).
But how versatile are these, exactly? Yngwiestein wrote in this thread that he heard someone dial in a great "brown sound" sort of rock tone on the ML-2. And is the main difference between the MT-2 and the ML-2, just the extra amount of deep bass on the ML-2, and the lack of a parametric mids control?
I've read that in the same way that the HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal was instrumental for early Swedish death metal, that the MT-2 was used quite a bit by the early Swedish melodic death metal bands.
