Both Clean AND Dirty Sound from your amp?

Re: Both Clean AND Dirty Sound from your amp?

Yes, i agree with that...Musicman's do have the Fender-y clean thing and some ammount of overdrive. I would imagine by today's standards that there is simply not enough drive available (of course the Musicman amps date back quite a long time now) but for classic rock they would be one of the few amps with a great clean sound. Thanks for jogging my memory...( I see very few Musicman amps coming in for repair because they are so well made and reliable, even after many years).

The first time I heard it by itself, I thought it might not sound so good with the band, but the first time I heard it in that context it was like "Ahaaa!" It sits in a mix SO well, and the EQ really makes a difference without anything brittle, ever.

My Cornford Hellcat has really nice cleans if you set the vintage channel with little drive, and a seriously killer overdriven sound on the modern channel. It's only 35 watts and yet is easily loud enough for the gigs I play. Oh, it takes pedals well too.
