So after much hemming and hawing, I decided on -- and purchased -- a new guitar. I've been wanting a P-90 for a long time, and finally had the cash to make a move. I considered new and used, foreign and domestic, Les Pauls, SGs, Explorers and others. This is what I got.

The sound is fantastic, the feel its equal. I love this thing. LOVE IT!!! Not a smidgen of buyer's remorse. It's incredibly versatile. If I'm not careful, this could become my #1.

Not only does your area have the best sports team, you also have to get the nicest new guitar I have seen on here in a while ( imho ). That is beautifull dude. I was just watching the rolling stones rock and roll circus, and the who plays before the stones, and Townsend has one just like that.

Classic, hot looking guitar. Congrats.

Ohhhhh you bastard. Between you and sosomething, my Gibson GAS has gone through the roof. That is the guitar I was looking at just a couple of weeks ago.

VERY COOL!

I used to do a good bit of gigging with a long term loan 67 SG Special and loved it. It was a killer axe and since having to give it back I've wanted to get one myself just never took the plunge.

I think the match of the SG with P90's are one of the greatest combos in electric guitar history!

It's like having a muscle car...with a big alumium blower sticking out through the hood!

I love it and have been thinking about those lately. Unfortunately, the one I found at my closest shop was mediocre at best. Did you have to play quite a few to find a winner?

I love it and have been thinking about those lately. Unfortunately, the one I found at my closest shop was mediocre at best. Did you have to play quite a few to find a winner?

I played a handful of guitars, and kept coming back to this one. I played it plugged in and unplugged. Sounded and felt good every time. I even left and went home, just to make sure I didn't want it just because it was in my face. I went back to day to make the purchase.

Congrats Bro! :bigthumb: I've played one of those. And it was a REALLY nice SG (i'm just a bucker guy, otherwise I'd prolly have bought it). I love the fact its got the binding and dots unlike a SG special or Faded special. I think Tatooed Carrot bought one of those recently too?

P90's are awesome, and I love the Sg specials. Have fun with it. I have a Schecter Tempest Special. When I bought it, it did not have pickups in it, I think it originally had some crummy EMG's in it. I put a set of Antiquity P90s in with the plans of using it as a slide guitar, but it sounded so good I decided to leave it setup to play anything. very happy with it.

The Gibson P90's are pretty impressive also, I don't think you will need to change them, but if you decide to consider the Ants..... they are great pickups..
