Try one, then trade it with someone on the trading post when you're done. If you find one you love, keep it.

Hey all.

I bought a Screamin Demon last night.

I proceeded to install 6 fillister screws in place of the hex heads and installed it in my Hamer Special FM.

At first listen, it seems to have nice, tight lows with balanced mids and a good amount of bite. Not shrill to my ears whatsoever. Also, the cleans when combined with the APHn are superb, much better than anything else I've had in there before (JB, DD, Super Distortion, Custom, C5).

I will be playing it tonight at practice, so I'll let y'all know how it handles
volume.

Did you get the fillisters from another bucker?

Re: Bought a Screamin Demon last night.

Basswood is middy, it really shows at highgain and loud volumes, underrated wood...but who cares??
My Demon rests in my Wolfgang with a Basswood body and a mapleneck, it sings, growls, sighs, screams, just play and it will deliver, I love the way it stays present and I dig those clear mids it has.
Works great with all my amps.

I personally like the way it responds under high gain at high volumes every time you complete a riff, stop the strings and touch the pick on them. This very sensitive "chug" if you know what I mean, with those spastic harmonics jumping out.

Re: Bought a Screamin Demon last night.

i love mine, its a great pickup for 80's metal.. it's in an all-mahogany RGA121 at the moment, and it's great for dropping pinches in when you don't even expect them :D

it's got nice hi-fi cleans, as well.. i'm probably going to pair it with a double-cream jazz i have lying around.. i'll just have to suck up the colour mismatch for now!
