Braided Shield Wire

So where exactly in a wiring scheme do you use this stuff? If your pickups already have it, then is it desireable somehow to use it on other connections? Say, with a Les Paul, would you use it to connect to the toggle? I'm a little confused on why and where you would want to use this stuff rather than typical single conductor wire.
Thanks,
Greg

The shielding is also a ground, so you put a dab of solder somewhere along it and melt it to the body of a pot. Then, you take the center wire, the hot lead, and solder it wherever your + is.

So you're saying I would replace every wire in the scheme w/ this stuff and solder the braid to the back of a pot in every instance? For instance, in a LP scheme there's a wire running from each volume pot to it's mating tone pot. Would I use it there and ground the braid on each end? And then for the toggle line, do the same? Seems like a lot of braid soldered to the back of each pot. I don't think I've ever seen a control cavity w/ that much grounded braid going on.
