I thought once you install an earvana nut you can't go back to a regular nut without further modding.

Not true, it installs the same way as a traditional nut. No modification required.

After reading this on Earvana I still have doubts. Looks like there is nut slot filing involved.

Oh that's for the OEM version. Check out their OEM vs. the retrofit. Mine is the retrofit version.

What size is it and is it black or white? Has the nut base been filed yet to whatever radius it was matched to or never installed? Has the nut top been cut to size yet or no? Also what color are the 3 mounting screws that screw into the glued-in nut base?

screws and material are black. It's still in the packaging, brand new, never installed. 1 11/16 width. Oops, I forgot to state that, I'll put it in the initial post too.
