Brian May wiring with 3 switches. Diagram inside.

So i drew this diagram last year to use on my dad's old steve stevens hamer, because the factory switching is pretty limited and weird.... Plus, my dad has been a brian may fan since the beginning of queen, and i have as long as i can remember. I finally got around to wiring it.

It puts all 3 pickups in series like BM's, but instead of using seperate switches for on/off and phasing, i used 3-way on/on/on switches in order to keep continuity in the chain while each pickup is in the "off" position.

(It has since been intonated lol)

Interesting idea. Myself I might tend to overshoot the center position if switching during a song, but certainly saves space if you just setup your sound before playing.

I wonder if there's a way to have it be off/in/out so that off was at one end of the switch?

The way in which a DP3T switch links its internal contacts makes this impossible.

Also, the "off" positions of the switches leak a little signal. The original six switch BHM circuit really is better.
