Bridge Phat Cat On Neck?

Replacing the bridge phat cat on one of my guitars and thinking what to do with it besides putting it on ebay. Has anyone Idea of what will happen if I use the bridge phat cat for the neck in another project? I imagine it will be too dark or dull. Has someone done this?
I love how the neck PC sounds on my Epi Dot, but even after mag swaps never liked the bridge PC ( at least on a semi hollow Dot). May sound different on a solid body.

I use a PC bridge with A5 mags in the neck of a brighter LP. Works great.

I have a Tele that I built which has a Phat Cat bridge at the neck.
I like it but I've got some Alnico V magnets on the way that I'm gonna put in it. I want to hear for myself what the difference is.

I did swap mags on my neck PC to Polished A5's and made great difference; lots more clear and bright. Let me know how yours works after mag swap

Re: Bridge Phat Cat On Neck?

The Phat Cat bridge model actually sounds pretty good in the neck position. I tried it on one of my strat-style guitars (maple/rosewood/alder bolt-on) and I liked it quite a bit.

Common guys - lots of new people out there, let's bring the A game for advice!

Re: Bridge Phat Cat On Neck?

in my experience, a guitar with a neck slot that can make a '59n boomy can also make a stock phat cat neck a little wooly, and a bridge phat cat with 2 A5 mags a bit much.

2 A5s in the neck model will be quite good indeed though, and if the guitar's a little thin-sounding it'll give it a nice boost

Maybe i should point out, they are 2 RCUO A5s and the bridge pickup was an Ant with a RCUO A5.
